Tool and Die Supervisor
Job Description
Supervise, train, and mentor a team of tool and die makers, machinists, and apprentices. Assign daily tasks and manage work schedules to meet production and maintenance goals. Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching to improve team effectiveness. Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Oversee the preventive and corrective maintenance of all dies, molds, and tooling equipment. Ensure timely and accurate troubleshooting, repair, and refurbishment of tools and dies. Maintain detailed records of tool usage, maintenance, and repair history.
Responsibilities
+ Supervise, train, and mentor a team of tool and die makers, machinists, and apprentices.
+ Assign daily tasks and manage work schedules to meet production and maintenance goals.
+ Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching to improve team effectiveness.
+ Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
+ Oversee the preventive and corrective maintenance of all dies, molds, and tooling equipment.
+ Ensure timely and accurate troubleshooting, repair, and refurbishment of tools and dies.
+ Maintain detailed records of tool usage, maintenance, and repair history.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in tool and die, stamping, die repair, and blueprint reading.
+ Proficiency in machining, lathe operation, tooling, and manual machining.
+ Knowledge of tool & die design, punch press operation, design, mill operation, and die design.
+ Understanding of sheet metal, repair, calipers, progressive die, tolerances, and die assembly.
+ Competence in using SolidWorks, stamping press, welding, die casting, and manufacturing environment.
+ Strong supervisory skills and troubleshooting abilities.
+ Familiarity with grinder, micrometer, manufacturing tooling, manual mill, die maintenance, surface grinding, grinding, manual lathe, mills, and lathes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Ability to collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve tool design and manufacturing processes.
+ Capability to recommend and implement improvements to reduce downtime, increase tool life, and enhance product quality.
+ Leadership in conducting root cause analysis for tooling-related issues and implementing corrective actions.
+ Ensure all tools and dies meet quality standards and tolerances as specified in engineering drawings.
+ Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to resolve non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
+ Support audits and compliance with ISO/TS standards and other regulatory requirements.

Work Environment
The manufacturing areas are not climate-controlled. High heat zones are present in areas involved in friction material production, steel blanking, and adhesive bonding. Protective gear is required.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Crawfordsville, Indiana.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $83200.00 - $93600.00/yr.
