    Job Title: Overnight Production Supervisor in a Plastic Injection Molding environment

     

    Third shift, 85k, direct hire

    Job Description

    This position will be responsible for the management and oversight of an injection molding manufacturing operation. This includes supervising production leads and approximately 30-40 production operators. The role involves using production and operating reports to manage yield rates, equipment uptime, output, material usage, and overhead rates to meet performance and cost expectations. Additionally, the position requires resolving operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimal cost and prevent production delays, as well as planning direct labor staffing to meet production forecasts.

    Responsibilities

    + Manage and oversee injection molding manufacturing operations.

    + Supervise production leads and a team of 30-40 production operators.

    + Utilize production and operating reports to manage yield rates, equipment uptime, output, material usage, and overhead rates.

    + Resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance issues to prevent production delays.

    + Plan and direct labor staffing based on production forecasts.

    + Interview, hire, and train employees.

    + Plan and direct work activities.

    + Appraise employee performance and implement reward and discipline measures.

    + Address and resolve employee complaints and problems.

    Essential Skills

    + 5+ years of experience as a production manager, ideally in a contract manufacturing environment.

    + Proficiency in production management, metrics and analysis, and manufacturing operations.

    + Strong management and resource planning skills.

    + Excellent communication and people skills.

    + Experience in developing and maintaining production metrics.

    + Strong data analytics and problem-solving skills.

    + Familiarity with manufacturing software (Epicor).

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in the plastics industry, particularly injection molding.

    + Experience in medical device manufacturing.

    + Experience working in a small to midsize company that has experienced significant growth.

    + Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.

    + Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Epicor Vantage ERP, and continuous improvement processes.
