    Perform laboratory tests and tasks using both conventional and computerized machines. Conduct laboratory work according to established standards, determining chemical and physical characteristics or composition. Set up, adjust, and operate laboratory equipment and instruments. Maintain records by entering data, updating information, and tracking results. Respond to basic customer inquiries regarding formulas and mixture processes. Ensure a clean and safe working environment by cleaning, maintaining, and calibrating standard equipment.

    Responsibilities

    + Conduct laboratory tests and work using conventional and computerized equipment.

    + Determine chemical and physical characteristics or composition.

    + Set up, adjust, and operate laboratory equipment and instruments.

    + Enter data to maintain records and track results.

    + Respond to standard customer questions about formulas and mixture processes.

    + Clean, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment.

    + Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

    + Perform additional duties as assigned.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in laboratory work, chemistry, and formulation.

    + Ability to perform color matching and work with powders, coatings, and liquids.

    + Experience in research, synthesis, quality control, and batch processing.

    + Ability to measure, mix, and handle resins and experiments.

    + High School Diploma or GED is required.

    + Basic math skills.

    + Experience in color differentiation.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.

    + One year of chemical lab experience preferred.

    + Proven organizational and documentation skills.

    + Ability to take direction effectively, as verified by references.

    + Comfortable working with paint.

    Work Environment

    This role is set in an industrial lab environment, not a clean room or biological lab. Enjoy flexible first shift hours from Monday to Friday, with a typical eight-hour shift starting between 7 and 8 AM and ending between 4 and 5 PM. Core working hours are from 8 AM to 4 PM. The dress code is business casual, with a lab coat provided. The company is known for promoting from within, though candidates should be aware that being in this role for nine months may not guarantee conversion.

    This is a Contract position based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
