Job Description
Join our dynamic team as a Sr Pump Mechanic where you will be responsible for servicing and repairing pumps and rotating equipment. You will work in our shop to recondition and refurbish pumps from the field, utilizing blueprints and drawings. This role includes handling split case pumps, overhung pumps, horizontal pumps, and multistage pumps.
Responsibilities
+ Service and repair pumps and rotating equipment.
+ Recondition and refurbish pumps based on blueprints and drawings.
+ Overhaul, dismantle, and repair split case, overhung, horizontal, and multistage pumps.
+ Utilize scales, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments to ensure precision.
+ Perform alignments, boring, overhauls, repairs, and assembly tasks.
Essential Skills
+ 7+ years of experience as a Pump Mechanic in a pump shop.
+ Expertise in all types of pumps, including vertical and horizontal.
+ Proficiency in blueprint reading.
+ Experience with mechanical components such as compressors, turbines, overhung, and reciprocating pumps.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with multistage or horizontal pumps.
+ Ability to balance bearings and work on seals and gaskets.
+ Manual machining experience, including VTL (Vertical Turret Lathe) or HBM (Horizontal Boring Mill).
+ Proficiency in using lathes, drill presses, milling machines, grinders, acetylene torches, impact wrenches, overhead cranes, and forklifts.
+ Welding experience with MIG, TIG, and Heliarc techniques.
+ Experience with Tier 1, 2, and 3 pumps.

Work Environment
Work in a medium-sized shop filled with parts and pumps, reflecting our thriving business. Although space is currently tight, we are planning to move to a larger facility in 2024 or 2025. The night shift operates from Monday to Friday, 3:30 PM to 2:30 AM, and Saturday from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with two paid breaks and an unpaid lunch. Expect to work 50 to 60 hours weekly, with occasional Sunday shifts offering double time. Safety gear, including steel-toed boots, jeans, work shirts, and safety glasses, is required. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $44.00/hr.
