Job Title: Civil Foreman
Job Description
The Civil Foreman oversees all aspects of the civil component of the project. This role requires interfacing with subcontractors to ensure conformance with approved plans, specifications, scope of work, and contract documents. The Civil Foreman also corrects and reports any safety issues to the Safety Manager and manages the daily activities and materials of subcontractors.
Responsibilities
+ Communicate with subcontractors and internal leadership, keeping all parties informed of project details and/or changes related to scheduling, project scope, or any requested deliverables.
+ Understand the Scope of Work of the subcontractors, per assigned project.
+ Work with the Environmental team to ensure that subcontractors remain in compliance with both organization and state Environmental regulations.
+ Ensure that all tasks are executed in accordance with approved methods of Safety, Quality, and client standards.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum of 8 years of Civil Construction experience preferred.
+ Minimum of 5 years of Civil Supervision experience preferred.
+ Solar Experience highly preferred.
+ Journeyman Operator (License or verified experience).
+ OSHA 30 certification.
+ Ability to read construction drawings, diagrams, and develop a working plan for implementation of design.
+ Demonstrated knowledge of installing basins, mass grading and excavation, stabilizing acreages, and maintaining a proper site flow of personnel and equipment.
+ Basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office products and company email.
+ Valid driver’s license.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
+ Developing knowledge of layout and survey work.
+ Minimum 3 years of solar civil leadership experience required.
+ Minimum 3 years of commercial construction supervision experience preferred.
+ OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
+ Basic math skills and reading comprehension.

Work Environment
The work environment includes active construction projects as well as closeout sites. The role involves working in a new construction environment, with exposure to the elements including very hot and humid conditions in the summer. Expect to work 50-hour weeks initially, with a daily schedule from 7:00 AM until 6:00 PM, including an hour break for lunch and short breaks in the morning and afternoon. The role requires operating equipment on site and collaborating with laborers. Appropriate work clothing and PPE gear, including a hard hat, steel-toed boots, safety glasses, and a reflective vest, are mandatory.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saluda, Virginia.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
