    Job Title: ArchitectJob Description

     

    We are seeking a talented and technically proficient architect to join our dynamic team. The role involves working across a diverse portfolio of adaptive reuse, base build, civic, and commercial projects. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to both new construction and adaptive reuse efforts while collaborating closely with our in-house urban design team and a network of consultants specializing in coastal resilience.

    Responsibilities

    + Lead and support project teams through all phases of design and construction, from kick-off to closeout.

    + Provide technical oversight and mentorship to junior designers and consultants.

    + Develop and review construction documents to ensure alignment with project goals and regulatory requirements.

    + Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate urban design and resilience strategies into architectural solutions.

    + Engage with civic stakeholders and end-users to inform and enrich the design process.

    + Contribute to the visual storytelling of projects through renderings, diagrams, and presentations.

    Essential Skills

    + Proven experience in construction administration, including site visits, RFIs, submittals, and punch lists.

    + Strong technical knowledge of materials, detailing, and building systems.

    + Familiarity with ADA standards, local building codes, and zoning regulations.

    + Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide design teams and external collaborators.

    + Proficiency in rendering software and a keen eye for graphic composition.

    + Passion for collaborative design and commitment to design excellence across scales.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Licensed Architect in Virginia or in a state with reciprocity in Virginia.

    + NAAB accredited Bachelor or Master of Architecture.

    + 6+ years of professional experience within the architecture industry, preferably in community, cultural, or housing projects.

    + Proficiency in Revit, Enscape, SketchUp Pro, and Adobe Creative Suite.

    + Experience with project management, schematic design, and construction drawings.

    Our team consists of an average of 17-20 architects and interior designers. We operate on a hybrid schedule. Our work culture is collaborative, community-focused, open, and transparent.     Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Norfolk, Virginia.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $95000.00/hr.
