    Job Title: Electro-mechanical Test Technician

    Job Description

    The Test Technician role involves interpreting work orders, bills of materials, blueprints, schematics, and other instructions to determine the best methods for testing and assembly. This position requires verifying and collecting parts, tools, and measuring devices necessary for building projects. The technician will test equipment operation and software, complete necessary documentation such as test reports, failed test reports, and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs). The role also includes assisting engineering with prototype assembly, requiring mechanical and electrical skills.

    Responsibilities

    + Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, schematics, and verbal instructions to determine testing and assembly methods.

    + Verify and gather necessary parts, tools, and measuring devices for builds.

    + Test equipment operation and software to ensure functionality.

    + Complete and maintain test documentation, including test reports and Non-Conformance Reports.

    + Assist engineering with mechanical and electrical prototype assembly.

    + Interface with various departments such as Fabrication, Welding, Finishing, Materials, Purchasing, Engineering, Quality Control, and Accounting to share information related to production standards and engineering specifications.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in engineering, troubleshooting, and electronics.

    + Strong skills in electrical, mechanical, and schematic assembly.

    + Experience with test equipment, blueprints, calibration, and debugging.

    + Ability to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, and blueprints.

    + Thorough knowledge of electrical theory and test equipment.

    + Ability to troubleshoot down to the board level.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + AS or BS Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electro-Mechanical Technology or equivalent work experience.

    + Wiring skills with high voltage (480v) and low voltage (24v) are preferred.

    Work Environment

    The position is based in Kingston, NY, with working hours from 7:00am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday. The role offers a contract-to-hire opportunity, with accrued sick time per NYS regulations and potential conversion to full-time employment after the contract period. The company is experiencing growth and is adding a new equipment line in Kingston.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kingston, New York.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
