Job Title: Construction Superintendent Job Description

The Construction Superintendent is responsible for managing construction projects within a general contractor/construction management company. This role involves planning, organizing, and overseeing project tasks by supervising field staff, subcontractors, and ensuring overall project safety and quality. The Superintendent will monitor construction activities from project initiation through completion and serve as the key communicator between trades, disciplines, clients, and office leadership.

Responsibilities

+ Manage construction projects, ensuring all tasks are executed according to plan.

+ Supervise field staff and subcontractors to maintain project safety and quality standards.

+ Monitor and oversee construction activities from start to finish.

+ Facilitate effective communication between trades, disciplines, clients, and office leadership.

+ Report directly to the Project Manager and Construction Director through daily logs and proactive communication.

Essential Skills

+ 3+ years of experience in running and managing construction projects involving multiple disciplines (electrical, mechanical, carpentry, exterior).

+ Experience managing construction projects valued at $1M+.

+ Construction, construction management, site supervision, general contractor, subcontractor management.

+ Experience in commercial construction project management, including RFI, change orders, project coordination, and scheduling.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with construction projects within the commercial space.

Work Environment

The Construction Superintendent will report to the Grand Rapids office but will primarily work onsite at the SR Living facility in Kalamazoo. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, with little to no travel required except for occasional job site visits. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $53.00/hr.
