Description
The Mechanical Engineer designs functional, reliable and cost effective, heavy duty vehicle components. Perform engineering analysis and design or re-design, and development of components into existing and new vehicles. Provide integration and execution support for vehicle and component design.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Perform engineering calculations, investigations, and assigned tasks under supervision, adhering to and industry-standard engineering practices.
+ Assist engineers in developing plans, designs, computational methods, and technical documentation.
+ Take ownership of a project or a portion of a project with limited complexity.
+ May oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
+ Collaborate with internal engineering and business support teams, as well as external suppliers, as needed.
+ Offer guidance and mentorship to entry-level engineers, designers, or technicians working on shared initiatives.
+ Maintain clear and effective communication with suppliers, internal and external customers, and external partners regarding technical matters.
+ Ensure engineering criteria and drawing standards are properly applied, and that technical work aligns with company policies and procedures.
+ Assess designs for performance, safety, and reliability.
+ Lead or contribute to the creation of layouts, drawings, specifications, and bills of material.
+ Conduct engineering analyses to support the selection of parts, components, and materials that meet project requirements.
+ Provide technical support to production teams.
+ Investigate and resolve engineering issues reported through verbal or written channels.
+ Develop technical proposals, quotations, reports, and presentations.
+ Create and maintain documentation for analysis, research, and historical reference.
+ Apply analytical and mathematical techniques to model system performance and optimize design solutions.
+ Address and communicate the status of engineering issues through verbal and written updates.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field along with Internship experience or six (6) or more months of related work experience.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.90 - $61.13/hr.
