Lab Technician – Microbiology

Employment Type:Contract-to-Hire

Schedule:Rotating Shifts

+ Monday–Friday: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM

+ Tuesday–Saturday: Early release around 1:30 PM on Saturdays

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a detail-oriented Lab Technician to join a small microbiology lab specializing in food safety and quality testing. This contract-to-hire position is ideal for candidates looking to expand their lab experience in a relaxed yet fast-paced environment. You’ll play a key role in sample preparation, pathogen testing, and supporting various microbiological procedures.

Responsibilities

+ Prepare and process food samples for microbiological analysis

+ Conduct pathogen testing using PCR and other lab instruments

+ Perform titrations, pipetting, and other analytical techniques

+ Apply aseptic techniques in sterile environments

+ Accurately record data and adapt to changing workflows

Qualifications

Required:

+ Hands-on experience with PCR, pipetting, and microbiology

+ Strong understanding of aseptic techniques and sterile processing

+ High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry

+ Ability to work efficiently in a dynamic, client-driven environment

Preferred:

+ 1–2 years of lab experience with a degree, or 4–5 years without

+ Familiarity with food testing or quality control labs

+ Experience with titrations and small-scale lab instrumentation

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
