Job Description
Join our team as an Engineering Specialist - HVAC Design Engineer in the MEP sector. You will be responsible for providing engineering and design services for hydronic and air-side HVAC systems in design-build projects. Your role will involve creating construction documents, performing energy analysis, and conducting ASHRAE Level I and II energy audits.
Responsibilities
+ Provide engineering and design services for hydronic and air-side HVAC systems in design-build projects.
+ Produce construction documents for HVAC systems, coordinating with other trades and vendors.
+ Review vendor submittals and verify existing conditions in the field.
+ Conduct energy analysis of existing buildings and develop energy efficiency improvement measures.
+ Perform savings calculations, scope definition, and life cycle cost analysis.
+ Conduct ASHRAE Level I and II energy audits and necessary field survey work to assess existing systems.
+ Collaborate closely with project salespeople, engineers, project managers, and field supervisors to meet project schedules.
+ Provide technical support for company operations, including systems and equipment troubleshooting.
+ Engage in design and layout review of selected projects developed by other personnel.
+ Develop proposals in collaboration with salespeople.
+ Travel locally to regional job sites to assist with the design and documentation of mechanical systems.
Essential Skills
+ Knowledge and ability to perform HVAC and energy engineering calculations.
+ Evaluate existing systems and equipment operation.
+ Graduate of a recognized mechanical engineering program with a minimum of 4 years design experience.
+ Proficient in blueprint reading for both architectural and building trades.
+ Knowledge of sheet metal and hydronic piping layout and fabrication.
+ Ability to coordinate with other building trades.
+ Proficient with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software.
+ Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit/BIM software.
+ Ability to design HVAC systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 5+ years of experience is preferred.
+ Experience in energy engineering is a plus.
+ Proficiency with Trane Trace is a plus.
+ Experience in plumbing design is a plus.
Work Environment
This role is based at the company headquarters, where you will enjoy a lovely office space with plenty of parking. You will work in the office five days a week, with your own office space.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
