Job Title: Electronics Technician
Job Description
Join our team in the build, fabrication, testing, and delivery of high-reliability custom spacecraft harnesses and cables. You will work with a team of engineers, ensuring equipment is engineered to exact aerospace standards for a spaceflight program. Your role will include troubleshooting electronic systems and understanding testing, integration, and cable crimp/harness build and integration, specifically for NASA hardware requirements.
Responsibilities
+ Collaborate with engineers in the build and fabrication of spacecraft harnesses and cables.
+ Participate in testing and delivery processes for high-reliability aerospace equipment.
+ Troubleshoot electronic systems and conduct basic testing, integration, and cable crimp/harness build and integration.
+ Integrate systems to specific hardware requirements from NASA.
+ Work through integration and test phases alongside the engineering team.
+ Document results from testing and integration processes.
+ Contribute to the final systems delivery with a broad-based skillset.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with High-Reliability systems, especially space hardware.
+ Proficiency in building, integrating, and troubleshooting electronic cables and wire harnesses.
+ Ability to read schematics and use multimeters.
+ Experience in crimping, splicing, and connector work.
+ Knowledge of electronics testing, debugging, and circuit board assembly.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Associate's degree in Engineering or a technical discipline preferred; experience can substitute.
+ At least 5 years of relevant experience.
+ Experience with space systems, ideally NASA or NASA Spaceflight hardware.
+ Familiarity with benchtop tools like oscilloscopes, multimeters, and voltmeters.
+ Possession of space/NASA certifications for workmanship preferred, including Cable Crimp and Harness, NASA 8739.4, J-STD-001 for soldering, and NASA 8739.1.
Work Environment
Work in a small, family-oriented team of engineers and technicians focused on space hardware. The office environment is supportive and invests in team members. The role involves working on engineering and spaceflight models, supporting harness design and delivery for systems.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bethesda, Maryland.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $39.00/hr.
