Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Join our team as a Maintenance Technician, where you will play a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of our manufacturing facility. You will work on a rotating shift schedule, ensuring that all equipment is in excellent condition and adhering to safety standards. This role is essential for ensuring the safety, freshness, and quality of food packaging materials produced in our climate-controlled facility.

Responsibilities

+ Follow all standard work practices and procedures, including hot work permit systems, startup and shutdown protocols, and safety rules.

+ Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

+ Complete work orders and manage parts inventory using SAP.

+ Perform minor electrical work with proper training, such as unwiring and rewiring replacement parts.

+ Rebuild pumps, change mechanical seals, and repair extrusion vacuum loading systems.

+ Perform machining and fabrication tasks to precise tolerances and use welding equipment.

+ Conduct preventive maintenance on machinery, including Punch Presses and Extruders.

+ Perform hoist inspections, motor replacements, and alignments.

+ Unjam scrap lines, change filters, and perform pipefitting.

+ Comply with all plant and department safety guidelines and work instructions.

+ Participate in plant emergency response and understand roles and actions required.

+ Maintain good housekeeping practices and clean up after jobs.

+ Perform any other duties as assigned by the department supervisor or shift lead.

Essential Skills

+ 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment

+ 3+ years of experience reading blueprints and schematic drawings

+ 3+ years of experience in troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of hydraulic and pneumatic systems

+ 2+ years of experience in repairing line conveyors, motor belts, and bearings

+ 2+ years of experience in welding or fabrication

+ High School Diploma or equivalent

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ 2+ years of experience with PLC Troubleshooting (preferably Siemens)

+ 1+ year of experience operating forklifts or scissor lifts

+ Experience in a food packaging or plastics environment

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Wheeling, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $64000.00 - $65000.00/yr.
