    Job Description

    As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing semi-trucks and trailers, including the maintenance of engines, transmissions, brakes, and other essential components. You will work with a fleet that currently includes 10 power trucks, soon to be expanded to 17.

    Responsibilities

    + Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues on semi-trucks and trailers.

    + Perform repairs on intakes, radiators, air conditioning compressors, oil pans, steering gears, and other components.

    + Conduct bumper-to-bumper repairs, including chassis work.

    + Change tires and brakes, and service brake chambers.

    + Perform bodywork on trailers, including replacing mirrors, antennas, windows, and mud flaps.

    + Troubleshoot electrical systems up to 12 volts, HVAC, windshield wipers, and lighting.

    + Perform aftermarket treatments to engines, diagnose engines, cab, and emissions inside of Freightliner and Volvo trucks.

    + MIG welding and fabricating as needed.

    + Use basic computer skills to log progress and send emails.

    Essential Skills

    + 3-5 years of experience as a diesel mechanic.

    + Proficiency in engine diagnostics and trailer repair.

    + Ability to replace tires and change brakes.

    + Skill in troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical issues.

    + Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

    + Valid driver's license.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with hydraulics, hand tools, and electrical systems.

    + Knowledge of blueprint reading and welding.

    + Experience with preventive maintenance and heavy equipment.

    Work Environment

     

    Work in a recycling yard environment, primarily inside a repair bay. Be prepared for a dirty and dusty setting that is cold in the winter and hot in the summer. **The work schedule is Monday to Friday, with flexible hours from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., ensuring a 45-hour workweek. This is a direct hire position,** with two openings available.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $58240.00/yr.

    - Weekly Bonus (based on production) from 0 to 50% of their weekly production

    - Yearly Profit sharing (this based on the candidates overall pay from the year before. For the past six years profit sharing bonus was at 25% of their overall year end salary)

     

    - Weekly pay

    - Vacation after 6 months. Will get 5 days

    - OT after 40hrs

    - 401K with company match. Up to 50% dollar for dollar
