Job Title: Press Feeder
Job Description
Responsible for the preparation and operation of an automatic feeder and maintaining the trailing coater. Additionally, you will assist the press operator in tandem press operations as assigned.
Responsibilities
+ Prepare the press feed section according to the sheet size involved.
+ Assist the press operator in setting up the press, including installing the press plate, setting dampeners and rollers, filling the ink fountain, and ensuring correct pH and conductivity of the fountain solution.
+ Check each load of plates delivered for correct size, job number, plate position, and general condition before pushing into the feeder.
+ Line up loads for proper continuous feeding and adjust the double sheet ejector.
+ Remain constantly alert for correct feeder operation to catch damaged sheets and prevent jams.
+ Insert sheet holding forks near the end of each load for continuous feeding operation between loads.
+ Assist in mixing inks, washing the press plate and blanket, and other duties as assigned during the run.
+ Take responsibility for complete press operation during the temporary absence of the press operator, under supervision.
+ Perform miscellaneous oiling of the press and feeder as directed.
+ Wash up the press during color changes and at the end of the day/shift/week.
+ Maintain accurate day log cards and order work copies with operation performed, sheet count, and spoilage.
+ Occasionally hand pile sheets on the feeder skid as assigned.
+ Set up the trailing coater and maintain film weight, viscosity, and coverage during the run.
+ Change the composition coating roller as necessary and wash up the coating machine between material changes and at the end of the day/shift/week.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with printing press and troubleshooting.
+ Ability to assist the operator with press setups and plating.
+ Competence in daily cleaning of the press and logging information.
+ Detail-oriented with mechanical skills.
+ Knowledge of lithography and machine operation setup.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Must be able to pass the Farnsworth Munsel 100 Hue Test.
+ Proficiency in using and reading basic measuring equipment.
+ Ability to read and comprehend work orders and layout specifications.
+ Knowledge of coating materials.
+ High school diploma, GED equivalency, or vocational certificate required.
+ Ability to work with materials weighing up to approximately 60 lbs.
+ Position requires standing most of the time.

Work Environment
The role offers a structured shift schedule with training on the 1st shift (7am-3pm) for 3-8 weeks, transitioning to the 2nd shift (3pm-11pm) with a 7% premium, or the 3rd shift (11pm-7am) with a 15% premium.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60216.00 - $69248.40/yr.
