Job Title: Production Associate

Job Description

As a Food Production Associate/Operator, you will play an essential role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production processing lines and machinery. This role involves handling materials, following recipes, weighing and measuring raw ingredients, operating equipment, packaging the final product, and performing quality checks to meet company and customer requirements. You will assist in various areas of the production process as needed.

Responsibilities

+ Help unload incoming shipments to supply production operation, including heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.

+ Follow production specifications to ensure the quality of the end product.

+ Assist in various production areas and operate different food production machinery.

+ Handle, weigh, measure, and store raw materials and dry ingredients.

+ Perform operator adjustments and control settings to maintain prescribed operating conditions.

+ Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure quality standards are met.

+ Understand and follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and all company regulations and safety practices.

+ Maintain production records, including data on weight, amount of product processed, downtime, type of product, and processing time.

+ Complete additional tasks as required or assigned, showing flexibility in helping various production areas.

Essential Skills

+ 3+ years of manufacturing/production experience

+ 6 months+ food manufacturing experience with knowledge of food handling and GMPs

+ 2+ years of machine operating experience

+ Experience with forklifts and packaging in a food manufacturing environment

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Mechanical inclination

+ Ability to follow recipes and measure ingredients accurately

+ Basic computer, tablet, and scanner use to record and track production data

+ Proficiency in English for reviewing and preparing shipment paperwork

+ Ability to drive a sit-down forklift

Work Environment

This position is located in a food manufacturing environment, where you will experience temperature variations with one side of the facility hot (manufacturing operation) and the other side cold (chocolate cooling/packaging operation). Safety and hygiene are prioritized, requiring uniforms, steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, hair nets, beard nets, and specific safety gear. Physical requirements include standing and walking for prolonged periods, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting over 50 lbs. regularly. Pacemakers are not permitted around magnets.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Union City, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
