    Environmental Field Technician

    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated Environmental Field Technician to join our team in Murfreesboro, TN, with the willingness to travel throughout the Chattanooga and Knoxville areas. This role involves hands-on fieldwork and requires a proactive approach to environmental monitoring and data collection.

    Responsibilities

    + Install flow monitors within sewer lines.

    + Set up rainfall monitoring equipment.

    + Calibrate flow monitors to ensure accurate readings.

    + Collect and review sewer flow and rainfall data for accuracy.

    + Operate and maintain flow monitors and rainfall gauges.

    + Inspect manholes manually or using telemonitoring equipment.

    + Conduct flow isolations, smoke testing, dye water flooding, and site inspections.

    + Maintain accurate, legible, and organized records per quality work instructions.

    + Ensure the safety and mechanical soundness of vehicles and equipment.

    + Adhere to all safety procedures and company policies.

    + Travel and work overtime as required.

    + Complete all required internal and external training and certifications.

    + Perform additional duties as needed.

    Essential Skills

    + Background in environmental science or engineering.

    + Proficiency in sewer testing and sampling.

    + Ability to conduct technical reporting.

    + Understanding of civil and environmental engineering principles.

    + Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.

    + Manual dexterity and the ability to work outdoors.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Bachelor's degree in a related field or an Associate's degree in Engineering.

    + Ability to function effectively in a team environment.

    + Capability to meet daily productivity targets.

    + Willingness to travel and foster a healthy safety culture.

    Work Environment

    This position involves working outdoors in varying weather conditions, often within drainage systems. The work schedule is Monday through Thursday, offering a week of vacation and six holidays annually. Per diem includes $45/day for food, with hotel expenses covered, and a car or mileage reimbursement provided. There is potential for career growth, from Field Technician to Field Supervisor, Field Manager, and eventually Project Manager.     This is a Contract position based out of Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
