Job Title: QC Manager - SSHOJob Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced QC Manager - SSHO to maintain a consistent on-site presence during all active construction activities. The ideal candidate will oversee and implement the USACE 3-Phase Quality Control process, manage submittals and testing procedures, utilize RMS/QCS systems, and lead daily safety briefings. Additionally, you will prepare and review Accident Prevention Plans (APPs) and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), ensuring all work aligns with EM 385-1-1 safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
+ Oversee the USACE 3-Phase Quality Control process, including preparatory meetings, initial inspections, and follow-up reviews.
+ Manage submittals and testing procedures to ensure accurate and timely documentation.
+ Utilize RMS/QCS systems to track quality metrics and project progress.
+ Lead daily safety briefings and enforce safety protocols.
+ Prepare and review Accident Prevention Plans (APPs) and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs).
+ Ensure compliance with EM 385-1-1 safety and quality standards.
+ Serve as the designated Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) listed on ENG Form 6282.
+ Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, and government representatives to meet contract requirements.
+ Provide both quality assurance and safety oversight in a dual capacity.
Essential Skills
+ 5+ years of construction experience, including 2+ years as a QC Manager.
+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture.
+ Prior USACE/NAVFAC QC and SSHO experience.
+ Certified in USACE CQM or ability to obtain within 90 days.
+ Meets EM 385-1-1 training/experience standards.
+ Holds OSHA 30 and First Aid/CPR certifications.
+ Skilled in APPs, AHAs, safety briefings, and 3-Phase QC.
+ Proficient with RMS/QCS and managing submittals/testing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Must be prime-employed and on-site during all work.
+ Listed on ENG 6282; may serve as SSHO if qualified.
Work Environment
As part of the USACE Backup Generator Project, the selected candidate will play a key role in both quality control and site safety management. This is a full-time, on-site position expected to last approximately 5 months. The company offers weekly pay and the opportunity for longer-term employment if work is available and performance meets standards.

This is a Contract position based out of Matteson, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $52.88 - $76.92/hr.
