_Machine Repair Technician_

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Machine Repair Technician for a 3rd shift position from 11 PM to 7 AM, with flexibility to start at 9 PM or stay until 9 AM, including some Saturdays (typically 1-2 per month). The primary responsibility is to maintain and repair machines such as vacuum forms, trim presses, extruders, and robots to ensure smooth operations for machine operators. This role involves handling emergency floor calls, performing preventive maintenance, and undertaking various projects.

Responsibilities

+ Maintain and repair vacuum forms, trim presses, extruders, and robots.

+ Respond to emergency floor calls and perform preventive maintenance.

+ Troubleshoot electrical issues and understand PLC indicator lights.

+ Perform machine changeovers as necessary.

+ Execute project-based work, pneumatic troubleshooting, and repairs.

+ Change oil, gearboxes, and motors.

+ Weld guardings or platforms as needed.

+ Operate drill presses and manual mills for repairs.

+ Perform basic facility maintenance such as changing light bulbs, even at heights.

Essential Skills

+ 5 years of experience in machine repair.

+ 5 years of experience reading electrical schematics and blueprints.

+ 5 years of experience with preventive maintenance including greasing, cleaning machines, and conducting visual inspections.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Troubleshooting PLCs, specifically Allen Bradley & Siemens.

+ Troubleshooting robots, particularly ABB & Fanuc.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr.
