Job Title: Facility EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated Facility Engineer to join our team. The position involves assessing the lifespan of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems across multiple buildings in Loudon County and Pennsylvania for the Department of Transportation (DOT). This role requires traveling to Pennsylvania for a week every month or two, with all travel, hotel, and food expenses covered. The Facility Engineer will conduct fieldwork, check on safety protocols, and draft detailed reports on assessment findings.

Responsibilities

+ Assess the condition and lifespan of MEP systems in multiple buildings.

+ Identify necessary repairs and upgrades.

+ Draft comprehensive reports on assessment findings.

+ Ensure adherence to safety protocols while conducting fieldwork.

+ Interact professionally with clients during on-site visits.

Essential Skills

+ Supervision

+ Continuous improvement

+ Construction and construction inspection

+ MEP engineering and design

+ Proficiency in AutoCAD or AkitaBox software

+ Understanding of MEP systems, HVAC, fire alarm panels, lighting, plumbing, electrical systems

+ 2+ years of experience as a construction inspector or facility maintenance manager

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Construction Management, or Architectural Engineering

+ Experience conducting on-site facility assessments

+ Background in mechanical or electrical design/engineering

Work Environment

The work environment is a corporate setting with the possibility of transitioning to a hybrid model after one year. The role involves extensive travel with the team, requiring physical stamina for walking long distances during fieldwork.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Alexandria, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $90000.00/hr.
