    Job Title: Cook $17/hr

    Job Description

    As a cook, you will prepare and serve food according to planned menus and special diet orders. You will follow recipes and department guidelines while adhering to strict sanitation and safety standards. Your key duties will include operating kitchen equipment, maintaining clean kitchen and dining areas, managing food inventory, and delivering food to residents.

    Responsibilities

    + Prepare and cook hot and cold food items for patients, employees, and visitors.

    + Follow scratch recipes and department standards for all food preparation.

    + Prepare food for special dietary needs and therapeutic diets.

    + Maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen environment by cleaning and sanitizing equipment, utensils, and appliances.

    + Comply with all health and safety regulations in food service and a healthcare setting.

    + Operate various commercial cooking equipment safely and efficiently.

    + Monitor food inventory, prepare orders, and request supplies as needed.

    + Assist in setting up and taking down dining areas.

    + Provide courteous and friendly food service to residents and staff.

    + Communicate with the Dietary Manager, Food Service Director, or other supervisors as directed.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in a food service setting, such as a restaurant or hospital.

    + Completion of coursework or training in quantity food production, such as a community college program or armed forces cooks and bakers program.

    + National Food Handler Card or a local equivalent.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with foodservice, line cooking, and food production.

    + Skills in food preparation, tray line service, and customer service.

    + Knowledge of food safety regulations.

    Work Environment

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
