Job Title: Ammonia Refrigeration Technician

Job Description

The Ammonia Refrigeration Technician is responsible for performing hands-on technical duties to maintain ammonia refrigeration process equipment and various systems within our facilities. You will collaborate with the Process Safety Management Coordinator to ensure compliance with all relevant governmental regulations. Additionally, you will perform mechanical duties to maintain facility boiler equipment and associated systems.

Responsibilities

+ Maintain ammonia refrigeration process equipment and various systems.

+ Ensure compliance with Process Safety Management (PSM) elements per governmental regulations.

+ Perform mechanical duties to maintain facility boiler equipment and associated systems.

+ Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

+ Function as an active member of the team, making rounds throughout the facility to check compressors, vessel levels, spiral freezers, and other equipment.

+ Perform preventive maintenance work on coils and defrosting equipment.

+ Conduct steam boiler checks, water testing, and spot checking heat exchangers.

+ Respond to on-call duties based on location and experience.

Essential Skills

+ 1+ years of experience with ammonia refrigeration or boiler operation.

+ Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

+ Clean driving record.

+ High school diploma.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with HVAC, industrial settings, and preventive maintenance.

+ EPA certification.

+ Familiarity with ammonia refrigeration systems, mechanical, air conditioning, food industry, and refrigeration systems.

+ Refrigeration license.

Work Environment

This role operates on a 1st shift schedule from 6 am to 3/3:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Technicians must be prepared to work in varying temperatures ranging from -30 to 110 degrees. Personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, cold weather materials, and power tools are provided, while steel-toed boots, sockets, and screwdrivers are required. Technicians will conduct daily rounds and maintenance checks, and may occasionally work on the roof. The facility is monitored 24/7 by an alarm company to alert technicians of any issues.

This is a Permanent position based out of Holland, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $70720.00/yr.

1. Boot/Tool Allowance ($120 every 4 months)
