    Job Summary:

    The Quality Supervisor plays a key role in driving process improvement, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and supporting the success of the world’s largest lithium-ion battery initiative. Reporting to the Quality Manager, this position oversees a team of technicians, inspectors, and team leads to ensure daily execution of quality objectives and adherence to customer specifications. The role requires close collaboration with Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to resolve process issues, implement corrective actions, and prevent defects. By analyzing quality data and enforcing standards, the Quality Supervisor ensures continuous improvement and the delivery of high-quality products to customers.

    Essential Duties:

    Team Leadership & Training:

    + Supervise and develop a team of quality technicians, inspectors, and team leads

    + Provide ongoing training and guidance on quality procedures and expectations

    + Ensure team compliance with plant policies and procedures

    Quality Systems & Compliance:

    + Maintain and support the Quality Management System (QMS), including document control, CAPA, and internal audits

    + Ensure adherence to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications

    Process Improvement & Issue Resolution:

    + Collaborate with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to resolve defects and non-conformities

    + Implement corrective and preventive actions to improve product quality and reduce recurring issues

    Inspection & Control:

    + Oversee in-process and final product inspections to ensure conformity with specifications

    + Monitor and enforce quality control procedures across production lines

    Data Analysis & Reporting:

    + Analyze quality performance data to identify trends and drive improvement initiatives

    + Communicate quality objectives, metrics, and results to management and team members

    Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:

    + To ensure health and safety in the workplace and for employee protection, wearing PPE is a possibility and includes equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator. A respirator fit test will be required based on functional area.

    Qualifications

    Requirements - Required and/or Preferred

    Education:

    + **Required:** High School Diploma or equivalent

    + **Preferred:** Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, or a related technical field

    Essential Qualifications:

    + 5+ years of experience in quality assurance/control, including at least 2 years of direct supervisory or team leadership experience in a manufacturing or technical environment

    + Ability to lead, train, and mentor quality inspectors and technicians to ensure adherence to safety, quality, and procedural standards

    + Strong knowledge of quality systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949) and regulatory standards (e.g., UL, CE, RoHS)

    + Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset

    + Quick learner with strong understanding of production processes

    + Effective communicator with strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills

    + Demonstrated adaptability and ability to work across all levels of the organization

    + Team-oriented with a collaborative, proactive, and open-to-feedback approach

    + Proficient in English (reading, writing, and speaking)

    + Alignment to Panasonic’s seven (7) core principles (contribution to society, fairness and honesty, cooperation and team spirit, untiring effort for improvement, courtesy and humility, adaptability, gratitude)

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + 3+ years of supervisory experience, especially in high-volume or regulated manufacturing (e.g., automotive, electronics, or energy storage)

    + Experience in battery manufacturing, automotive, or clean energy industries

    + Advanced knowledge of statistical quality tools (e.g., SPC, MSA, FMEA, 8D, Pareto analysis)

    + Proficiency in root cause analysis methodologies (e.g., 5 Whys, Ishikawa diagrams)

    + Experience with quality software systems (e.g., QMS platforms, MES, ERP)

    + Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles

    + Knowledge of customer-specific quality requirements (e.g., from OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers)

    + Advanced Excel skills or experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Minitab)

    Preferred Certification(s):

    + ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA)

    + Six Sigma Green Belt or higher

    + ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor Certification

    + Hazardous Materials Handling Certification (e.g., OSHA HAZWOPER or equivalent)

    + Lean Manufacturing Certification

    Physical Demands:

    Physical Activities: Percentage of time (equaling 100%) during the normal workday the employee is required to:

    + Lift: 10%
