    Job Summary

    The Machine Operator II plays a crucial role in the efficient operation of our supply chain and warehouse activities. This full-time position involves managing the receipt, storage, and distribution of heavy-duty materials and equipment, ensuring accuracy and safety at every step. The role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced industrial environment.

    Primary Duties

    + Safely receive, unload, and inspect heavy-duty materials and equipment to ensure quality and compliance with order specifications.

    + Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery to move materials throughout the warehouse, adhering strictly to safety protocols and operational guidelines.

    + Accurately document material movements using inventory management systems, maintaining up-to-date records to support stock control and order fulfillment.

    + Coordinate with purchasing and production teams to ensure timely availability of materials required for operations.

    + Regularly conduct physical inventory counts and assist with cycle counting processes to maintain inventory accuracy.

    + Maintain clean and organized storage areas by following established warehouse layout and safety standards, reducing risk of accidents and enhancing workflow efficiency.

    + Assist with the loading of outbound shipments ensuring correct and secure packaging for transportation.

    + Report any discrepancies, damages, or safety hazards promptly to supervisors to support continuous improvement and workplace safety.

    Qualifications

    + Proven experience handling heavy-duty materials within a warehouse or industrial setting, with familiarity in operating material handling equipment.

    + Strong knowledge of warehouse safety standards and procedures, particularly those relating to heavy equipment and materials.

    + Demonstrated ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse machinery safely and efficiently; possession of current forklift certification is highly preferred.

    + Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills for accurate inventory management and documentation.

    + Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a physically demanding environment.

    + Good communication skills to coordinate with various departments and adhere to instructions.

    + Basic computer literacy for inventory management system navigation and record-keeping.

     

    Education / Experience

     

    A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Previous experience in material handling or warehouse operations with heavy-duty equipment operation is preferred. Relevant certifications, such as forklift operator certification, will be an asset.
