Job Title: Payroll Accountant

Job Description

As a Payroll Accountant, you will be responsible for processing manual time cards and worksheets to ensure accurate and timely payroll for both union and non-union employees. You will maintain payroll records by updating the database with changes in status, tax withholdings, benefits deductions, and time off accruals. Additionally, you will be tasked with initializing journal entries, balancing accounts, and submitting bi-weekly 401k contributions while reconciling health insurance deductions to monthly statements. Timely preparation and remittance of federal, state, and local tax reports, as well as monthly Worker’s Compensation reports to insurance carriers, will also be part of your responsibilities.

Responsibilities

+ Process manual time cards and worksheets for accurate payroll.

+ Maintain payroll records with updates on status changes, tax withholdings, and benefits deductions.

+ Initialize journal entries and balance accounts.

+ Submit bi-weekly 401k contributions and reconcile health insurance deductions.

+ Prepare and remit federal, state, and local tax reports timely.

+ Prepare and submit monthly Worker’s Compensation reports to insurance carriers.

Essential Skills

+ 1+ years of experience in Processing Payroll.

+ 1+ years of experience in any large ERP system, with a preference for Construction.

+ Proficiency in Payroll, Accounting, Payroll processing, and Payroll tax.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with multistate payroll is preferred.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tempe, Arizona.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.50 - $33.55/hr.
