As the Director of Finance, you’ll play a pivotal role in guiding the financial health and sustainability of the organization—ensuring that every dollar is maximized to serve the community.
This is a unique opportunity for a strategic finance leader to step into a high-impact role with a clear path to executive leadership. The current CFO is preparing for retirement, and this position is designed to transition into the CFO role, offering mentorship and continuity during the handoff.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership
+ Develop and implement financial policies that support long-term organizational goals.
+ Lead budgeting processes and ensure alignment with strategic priorities.
+ Provide financial insights and reporting to the CEO and Board of Directors.
Accounting Oversight
+ Manage core accounting functions: AP/AR, payroll, general ledger, and fixed assets.
+ Ensure timely, accurate reporting in compliance with GAAP and nonprofit standards.
Compliance & Risk Management
+ Oversee audits, regulatory filings, and grant compliance.
+ Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors and financial institutions.
Financial Planning & Analysis
+ Lead the preparation of the annual budget and multi-year forecasts.
+ Analyze financial trends and provide actionable insights to senior leadership.
Grant & Funding Management
+ Collaborate on grant proposals and ensure financial compliance with funder requirements.
+ Support the development of budgets for funding applications.
Team Leadership
+ Supervise and mentor finance staff, fostering growth and collaboration.
+ Build a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
Stakeholder Engagement
+ Present financial reports to internal and external stakeholders.
+ Maintain strong relationships with banks, service providers, and contractors.
Health & Safety Oversight
+ Ensure staff are trained and compliant with health and safety protocols.
+ Mandated reporter for suspected child abuse and responsible for timely incident reporting.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
+ 3–5+ years of financial management experience, ideally in the nonprofit sector.
+ Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
+ Proven expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
+ Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
+ Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $155000.00 - $170000.00/yr.
