    Job Summary

    The Georgia Department of Education - Office of Federal Programs is recruiting for an Education Program Specialist for the Georgia Online Individualized Education Program (GO-IEP) and Georgia Online 504 (GO-504). Under limited supervision, this position provides support for the development and implementation of GA Online Individualized Education Program (GO-IEP) and GA Online 504 (GO-504). Duties include, but are not limited to:

    Job Duties

    + Work collaboratively with other Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) divisions on the data requirements and federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) compliance requirements and consider how those apply and can be supported by GO-IEP and GO-504

    + Identify staff development training needs that relate to the GO-IEP and GO-504

    + Design, develop, conduct, and evaluate staff development during implementation

    + Actively communicate with users in districts face-to-face and online

    + Coordinate external communications efforts (i.e., publications, articles, brochures, manuals, and meetings) to convey a positive identity for GO-IEP and GO-504

    + Oversee internal communications relative to the GO-IEP and GO-504 to build employee awareness and support of activities related to the GO-IEP and GO-504

    + Provide ongoing technical assistance to local school districts on the planning and usage of GO-IEP and GO-504 to improve performance of students with disabilities

    + Develop, implement, and evaluate special projects, as assigned

    + Applicants must be proficient in and prepared to conduct or participate in online meetings daily as needed

    **This is a remote/telework position based in Downtown Atlanta. Statewide travel is required.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Preference will be given to applicants to meets the minimum qualifications in addition to the preferred listed below:

    + Special Education leadership experience including educational program planning, implementation, and evaluation

    + Experience planning, designing, implementing and evaluating training

    + Familiarity with special education policies at the local, state and federal level; experience using GO-IEP
