This posting is located within the Louisiana State Police, TROOP B, in Jefferson Parish.
This position will assist with State Police duties and provide a quicker response/service time, thereby eliminating downtime for public safety personnel.
Minimum Qualifications
Three years of experience or training as a mechanic.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Receives repair requests from numerous DPS and Troop personnel, along with multiple state agencies performs diagnostic tests using various detection systems to localize and trace malfunctions.
Uses mechanical and computerized testing software, electronic scanners, engine analyzers, exhaust analyzers, etc., and fleet management programs. Disassembles, re-diagnoses, overhauls, rebuilds, and/or repairs all mobile equipment's components and subcomponents.
Maintains and ensures proper operation of DPS LSP equipment to comply with applicable DEQ and EPA operations and emission requirements.
Documents in LAGOV all repair requests along with equipment identifiers, parts utilized, funding codes, updated cost, and time records for repair.
Performs varied custodial and maintenance tasks necessary for the upkeep of the buildings and grounds.
Ensures all repair orders, equipment records, requisitions, and parts are entered into LAGOV.
