    Office of Workers' Compensation

    The Louisiana Works is seeking a Workers Compensation Compliance Analyst to join the Office of Workers' Compensation. The Office of Workers’ Compensation Administration (OWCA) in Louisiana oversees the enforcement and administration of workers’ compensation laws, aiming to support early return-to-work efforts and improve workplace safety. The department manages disputed claims, conducts hearings, reviews medical treatment disputes, and investigates fraud through collaborative efforts like the GAME ON task force. The OWCA also provides OSHA consultation services to high-risk industries, while Records management maintains detailed records and reporting systems, including electronic submissions of injury reports. Additionally, OWCA conducts financial audits and ensures compliance among self-insured employers and insurance carriers. OWCA does not process individual workers' compensation claims or issue benefit payments. They also do not help injured workers with the claims management.

     

    TheWorkers’ Compensation Compliance Analyst performs professional research, statistical analysis, and technical support to ensure the Louisiana Works Office of Workers Compensation Administration (OWCA) meets all statutory reporting obligations, with emphasis on the OWCA Annual Report as required under La. R.S. 23:1310.10. The position also manages records request processing and supports agency-wide data quality and compliance initiatives.

    AN IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING COMPETENCIES:

    + Making Accurate Judgments:The ability to form an opinion objectively and decisively based on relevant information and in accordance with established standards.

    + Using Data: The ability to use relevant and valid data to inform a recommendation for action.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Three years of experience in worker's compensation claims or dispute resolution, injury investigation, insurance claims examining, or statistical analysis; OR

    Six years of full-time experience in any field; OR

    A bachelor's degree.

    EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:

    Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

    Job Duties and Other Information

    Job Duties:

    + Ordering the Rights and Responsibilities brochures annually and updating as needed.

    + Produce detailed reports with high statistical validity to support leadership decision-making.

    + Fulfill public and nonpublic records requests from OWCA’s hearing records and databases (JustWare, File Net, Infeauxnet, WC00, etc. )

    + Audit and reconcile deposit records and Compliance Cash Receipt reports to ensure payment accuracy for record services.

    + Maintain tracking spreadsheets and prepare weekly and monthly unit activity summaries.
