    We’re looking for a Revenue Tax Auditor Manager to join our Field Audit Sales Tax Division! The Revenue Tax Audit Manager is directly responsible for identifying audit leads and developing training initiatives in Sales, Severance, and Excise taxes. It will also manage the workflow of large complex computer-based audits throughout the United States.

     

    This is a promotional posting open only to current permanent classified employees of the Louisiana Department of Revenue.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Eight years of experience in tax accounting or tax auditing; OR

     

    Six years of full-time experience in any field plus twenty-four semester hours in accounting plus five years of experience in tax accounting or tax auditing; OR

     

    A bachelor’s degree with twenty-four semester hours in accounting plus five years of experience in tax accounting or tax auditing; OR

    A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, or statistics plus five years of experience in tax accounting or tax auditing; OR

     

    An advanced degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, quantitative methods, or statistics, or a Juris Doctorate, plus four years of experience in tax accounting or tax auditing; OR

     

    Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or a current Louisiana license to practice law plus three years of experience in tax accounting or tax auditing.

    EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:

    Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

    Job Duties and Other Information

    Job Duties:

    + The Revenue Tax Auditor Manager (RTAM) position is responsible for the Supervision of a team of Revenue Tax Auditor Specialist (RTAS) located within the State of Louisiana.

    + This position is directly responsible for identifying audit leads and developing training initiatives in Sales Taxes.

    + Conducts pre-audit investigations, including receiving and reviewing preliminary information, before assigning field audits.

    + Review audit methods and procedures to disclose efficiencies that can increase audit coverage and production.

    + Maintain knowledge of industry trends and legislation and disseminate technical information.

    + Assemble information and develop procedures regarding new and/or unusual tax issues.

    Position-Specific Details:

    Appointment Type: Promotional open only to current permanent classified employees of the Louisiana Department of Revenue.Current permanent status classified state employees may be required to accept a probational appointment.

     

    Work Location: This position may be domiciled at any one of LDR's Offices across the State of Louisiana (Please select all Parishes you are available to work/relocate) .

     

    Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
