Join the ClarkDietrich team by applying to the Corporate Controller position at our West Chester, OH location.

     

    The Corporate Controller oversees all corporate accounting functions, including financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls. This role ensures compliance with GAAP/IFRS and supports business decision-making through timely and accurate financial reporting. A key component of this role includes managing relationships with Joint Venture (JV) parent companies and ensuring all accounting, reporting, and compliance requirements tied to JV arrangements are effectively executed.

     

    The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise, exceptional communication and relationship building and management skills, and a collaborative mindset.

    Core Accounting & Financial Operations:

    + Oversee all core accounting operations, including billing, A/R, A/P, general ledger, cost and inventory accounting, and revenue recognition.

    + Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.

    + Ensure preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

    + Maintain compliance with financial regulations.

    + Design and enforce internal controls and accounting policies, including J-SOX compliance.

    + Serve as the primary liaison for internal and external audits.

    + Manage treasury operations, including cash flow monitoring, customer credit, and banking relationships.

    + Oversee company insurance renewals.

    + Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including automation of systems and processes.

    Joint Venture (JV) Responsibilities:

    + Act as the primary accounting liaison for JV parent companies, ensuring clarity and consistency in financial communications.

    + Ensure compliance with all JV contractual obligations, including reporting schedules, financial covenants, and audit requirements.

    + Manage capital contributions, distributions, and JV-related cash flow processes.

    + Coordinate joint audits and intercompany reconciliations with JV parent entities.

    + Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with JV finance counterparts to ensure alignment on shared objectives.

    Team Leadership & Development:

    + Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, learning, and operational excellence.

    + Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and support professional development of team members.

    + Promote collaboration across departments and functions to ensure financial integrity and operational alignment.

    Requirements

    Required Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master’s preferred).

    + CPA certification required.

    + 8-10 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.

    + Strong technical knowledge of GAAP/IFRS, financial reporting, and internal controls.

    + Experience with ERP systems (IFS a plus).

    + Public accounting experience (Big 4 strongly preferred).

    + Proven track record of managing accounting operations and leading finance teams.

    Preferred Skills and Competencies:

    + ERP Implementation experience

    + Familiarity with data extraction, analysis, and visualization tools such as SQL, Power BI, Tableau

    + Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies

    + Strategic thinking and business acumen with a strong operational mindset.

    + Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

    + High attention to detail and accuracy.

    + Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills.

    + Comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving environments.

    + Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and system upgrades.

    + Effective cross-functional collaborator, especially in joint ownership or shared governance structures.
