The J. H. Wilkinson Postdoctoral Fellowship is one of the most prestigious and competitive fellowships at Argonne National Laboratory, and the longest-running postdoctoral fellowship of its kind at the U.S. national laboratories. It fosters cutting-edge, high-impact research in applied mathematics and scientific computing, and has a distinguished history of launching long-term research careers at the highest level. The fellowship supports exceptional early-career scientists engaged in trailblazing research in scientific computing and grows the next generation of leaders in applied mathematics. Position Requirements

We are seeking applications from outstanding candidates who demonstrate:

+ Comprehensive knowledge of methods in applied and computational mathematics, computational statistics, or scientific machine learning.

+ Substantial knowledge of the physical sciences and advanced scientific computing.

+ Strong experience in interdisciplinary research involving mathematicians, computer scientists, and domain scientists.

+ Excellent collaborative skills, including the ability to engage productively with students and scientists at other laboratories and universities.

Education and Experience Requirements

+ Candidates must have received a recent Ph.D. prior to the beginning of the appointment

The expected hiring range for this position is $82,807.00-$139,279.00.
