    The Sr Technical Illustrator role is responsible for developing, writing, and editing content for Parts Manuals and related technical publications in print or electronic media.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.

     

    • Research engineering drawings and supplier information and prepare into illustrations and parts lists.

    • Review applicable Change Notices (CNs) for new and revised engineering and supplier documentation.

    • Develop, revise and update existing electronic parts list, and related material, using accepted practices with publishing software as required by engineering and supplier documentation. Establish phase-in serial number effectivity.

    • Use software to retrieve, orient, explode individual components, and save into a format to use with illustrating software.

    • Follow accepted artwork practices with regard to being simplified, yet concise, of proper relationship of components, completeness of detail, and proper identification as to layout, content, format and overall preparation.

    • Confer with company engineers, suppliers, R & D, production, service, purchasing and other department personnel, as required, to obtain, parts details, models, illustrations, photographs, etc. related to the preparation of parts lists and illustrations.

    • Prepare work for sub-contractors, ensure work is kept to schedule, style, and quality.

    • Coordinate proofing of final copy, prior to release.

    • Electronically forward completed manuals for internal distribution and web-based service provider for online manuals.

    • Upload manuals into Windchill and create Change Notices to release documentation to Online Express (insert segment websites)

    • Accepts leadership responsibilities on the project level. Understands team initiatives.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Bachelor’s degree in a related field and four (4) or more years of relevant experience (equivalent to ten (10 **)** years total in education and experience); or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the role _._

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Self-starter, flexible, highly organized

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    • Strong analytical skills

    • Ability to organize projects and work independently

    • Experience with the following software: PTC Pub Structures, PTC Illustrate, PTC IsoDraw, PTC Windchill, PTC Arbortext, PTC SIM, Creo Parametric

    • Experience with MAPICS and other MRP Systems

    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

    • Knowledge of construction equipment systems and components

    • Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems schematics

    • Experience effectively communicating with internal and external customers

    Pay Range:

    $82,000.00 - $132,800.00

     

    The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
