The Arc Mid-Hudson has a management opportunity, supporting people with developmental and intellectual disabilities, at our Day Habilitation Program located in Cottekill.

Cottekill Day Hab is nestled in a beautiful natural setting just outside of Rosendale. We offer the people we support a wealth of indoor and outdoor activity choices, including excursions on the nearby rail trail and opportunities to learn about and care for plants at our on-site vegetable garden. Creative expression is always encouraged here; they often engage the staff in facilitating painting, sculpture and photography. Our grounds contain a wonderful activity area for those who enjoy the fresh air and the activity rooms inside are sunny and spacious. On any given day, staff respectfully promote individual excellence in the pursuit of individual life goals and personal choice, while challenging themselves to offer the highest level of support possible.

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

+ Providing direct supervision to direct support staff and maintaining documentation of supervisory meetings.

+ Leading regularly scheduled staff meetings.

+ Overseeing the completion of all program checklists and monthly summary notes. Reviewing paperwork weekly to ensure that individuals are provided habilitation services each day of the month and that billing is accurate. Submitting monthly checklists and notes in a timely and accurate manner.

+ Overseeing the preparation, planning and daily implementation of a varied and choice-driven schedule of activities and special events (both recreational and volunteer) on a regular and rotating basis.

+ Developing curriculum and “hubs” of interest within the program to foster community skills acquisition and active participation in integrated community activities.

+ Ensuring through staff training and observations that all individuals are engaged in daily meaningful, productive and adult appropriate activities that provide challenging and rewarding opportunities to produce outcomes of real value.

The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and supervisory experience. A minimum of one year of previous experience supporting individuals with disabilities is required. An acceptable NYS driver's license is a must.

The Arc Mid-Hudson provides an extensive and informative new hire orientation in a comfortable learning environment, with additional development opportunities for management staff.

HOURS: 40/Monday through Friday/8:00 am to 4:00 pm - must be flexible based on program needs

STARTING SALARY: $ 22.73 to $ 26.48 per hour, based on relevant experience and education

Minimum Requirements

+ Associates’ or Bachelors’ Degree preferred and one (1) year supervisory experience; or

+ High School diploma with three (3) years’ experience, one of which is in a supervisory capacity.

+ Computer skills required.

+ Must have acceptable driver’s license which meets acceptable standards of the agency’s automobile insurance company.

+ Must be able to become CPR/First Aid, SCIP, & Van Certified.

+ Must be able to meet Essential Minimum Physical Demand Job Requirements with or without reasonable accommodation.

+ Experience working with adults with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities required.

+ Prior experience providing day services preferred.
