    As a **Lead R&D Engineer/Scientist** here at Honeywell, you will drive innovative research and development projects that enhance our advanced materials capabilities. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of our products and solutions, ensuring we remain at the forefront of technology in the industry.

     

    You will report directly to our Sr R&D Manager and you’ll work out of our Sunnyvale, California location on an Onsite work schedule.

     

    In this role, you will impact the development of cutting-edge materials that meet the evolving needs of our customers, contributing to the sustainability and efficiency of our products.

     

    + Lead and manage R&D projects focused on the development of advanced electronic polymers and formulations for Semiconductor and Displays applications.

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams and with customers to integrate new materials into product designs.

    + Design, Develop, Lead and Conduct Project work from ground-up, and analyze data to drive material innovation and performance improvements.

    YOU MUST HAVE

    + Hands-on experience and expertise in Design and Synthesis of Organic, Inorganic, Hybrid Polymers and Coating Formulations

    + Demonstrated ability of Strategic Insights and Alignment with the Business Objectives

    + Accomplished and well documented track record of developing, scaling and launching new materials for high volume manufacturing

    + Strong knowledge of material characterization techniques and methodologies.

    WE VALUE

    + PhD degree in Chemistry or Materials Science or a related field.

    + 5+ years of experience in R&D or product development roles.

    + Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

    + Experience with project management and leading teams.

    + Knowledge of Electronic Polymers and Materials used in Semiconductor and Displays Applications

    + Ability to establish synthetic polymer research lab

    This position is intended to convey to the new, independent company, to be named Solstice Advanced Materials when the separation occurs. This is expected to occur in late 2025.

    Compensation

     

    The application period for the job is estimated to be 40 days from the job posting date; however, this may be shortened or extended depending on business needs and the availability of qualified candidates. This was posted on September 17, 2025.

     

    The annual base salary range for this position is $160,000 - $200,000 for Sunnyvale, CA. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
