+ Roles and Responsibilities:Conduct proactive (preventive) and reactive maintenance on complex digital land-mobile radio, microwave, and network communications systems.
+ Troubleshoot and repair electronic communications systems.
+ Analyze system performance data to include both RF performance and traffic loading statistics to plan and implement improvements to infrastructure and operating parameters to address capacity, coverage, and interference
+ Analyze alarm data logs and statistics. Plan and implement corrective actions
+ Collect and analyze test instrument data and translate into actionable measures to repair, improve, optimize, or calibrate RF, microwave, or network communications systems
+ Respond to trouble tickets initiated from both end-users and vendors in a timely fashion and meet stringent SLA requirements
+ Participate in on-call schedule rotations
+ Coordinates facility visits/access, as necessary, with outside vendors/agencies.
+ Provide weekly status reports in detail to include active projects, pending maintenance and efforts to achieve 99.999% availability on all equipment
+ Mentor and provide on the job training to junior members of technical team
+ Schedule job assignments for junior staff members
+ Serve as a technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) to other staff members
+ Seek out new technology and processes to support existing and emerging corporate radio communications and wireless requirements
+ Participate in a lead capacity with the implementation of on-going communications systems projects.
+ Work under minimal supervision
+ Handle management roles and responsibilities during RSPS managers absence
+ Education, Experience and Qualifications:Completion of a technical training or degree program in electronics with a concentration in wireless systems (field experience will be considered in lieu of degree or certificate)
+ 10+ years’ experience in operations and maintenance of large, multi-site, digital wireless communications systems including conventional and trunked land mobile radio systems, MPLS microwave networks.
+ Fluent in Microsoft Office 365 including Microsoft TEAMS
+ Knowledge and Skills:Demonstrate practical understanding of trunking, microwave and antenna RF theory.
+ Advanced understanding of land-mobile radio systems engineering principles and practices.
+ Demonstrate practical knowledge of Federal Communications Commission rules and regulations. This includes but is not limited to Parts 22 and 90.
+ Demonstrate practical experience and responsibility for operating systems using one or more of the following digital LMR air interface technologies: P25, FDMA, TDMA, TETRA, iDEN, DMR, NXDN, and at least one of the following commercial air interface technologies: 4G/LTE, and/or other wireless technologies
+ Demonstrated operational knowledge and experience with various network transport technologies including: MPLS, T1, OC3, EPL.
+ Have proficient knowledge of fundamental networking and protocols to include L2TP, TCP-IP, UDP, Multicast, Unicast, SNMP, SMTP, NTP, OSI layer, etc.
+ Understanding of emergency/UPS power systems
+ Completion of a technical training or degree program in electronics with a concentration in wireless systems (field experience will be considered in lieu of degree or certificate)
+ Demonstrated practical experience with Computer-Aided Dispatch systems.
+ Demonstrated project management experience.
+ Excellent presentation and writing skills
+ Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:Valid driver’s license
+ FCC General Radio Telephone Operator and/or amateur license is preferred but not required
