    Job Description:

    We are currently looking for aForeman Facilities I - Light Rail - Riverlineto join our team!

    Summary:

    Responsible for overseeing and coordinating the maintenance and repair activities. Supervise a team of maintenance technicians and ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and in accordance with safety guidelines. Assign work and enforce employee compliance with safety procedures. Assists in planning and scheduling maintenance projects, monitors equipment performance, and ensures that necessary supplies and materials are available. Conduct first step hearings and ensure programs and policies are consistently followed and implemented. May also be involved in training and evaluating the performance of maintenance staff.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    + Develops and initiates effective preventative maintenance programs, space planning, fixed garage troubleshooting for the River LINE facilities to maintain and ensure proper life cycle expectancy of all physical plant equipment. Ensures the proper operation of mechanical, electrical, fire safety, boiler, HVAC equipment and industrial wastewater plant systems. Supervises maintenance and repair problems and inspects the work being performed.

    + Supervises in-house building maintenance forces for plant management and repair of all facility equipment. Delegates and schedules facility employee assignments, facility cleaning; assures work is completed in a timely and cost-effective manner.

    + Coordinates with outside regulatory and engineering firms to ensure local, state, and federal codes and regulations. Interaction and coordination with third party contractors/vendors, NJT force accounts and procurement.

    + Coordinates the handling of all facility related emergencies.

    + Maintains inventory of equipment utilized; ensures the upgrade of tools and equipment utilized by in-house forces; assures safety of employees and minimizes downtime. Coordinates work with Transportation on all shifts, ensuring that programs, policies, and procedures are consistently implemented, including stock room, safety, and environmental procedures.

    + Counsels, trains, and develops non-agreement maintenance personnel. Interviews, instructs, and disciplines agreement employees, conducts first step hearings, and maintains a relationship with the union and Labor Relations.

    + Responsible for the supervision and safety of all employees assigned to them. Must instruct employees on the proper performance of their work ensuring that it is done in a safe, orderly, and productive manner. Must ensure that all subordinates adhere to safety rules. Required to inspect job sites for cleanliness and safety hazards and take corrective action as needed.

    + Timekeeping entries and overnight/overtime coordination.

    + Assist other Departments with flagging and customer support.

    + Additional duties as assigned.

    + Assumes responsibility as site representative for outside vendor work.

    This Position Supervises:

    + Maintenance Man A - RL (8)

    Education, Experience and Qualifications:

    + High School Diploma, or equivalent

    + and six (6) years of experience in all types of building maintenance to include four (4) years of experience in a supervisory capacity.

    Knowledge and Skills:

    + Must be able to read, write speak and understand the English language.

    + Strong leadership and organizational skills are essential for this role.

    + Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite software, particularly Word and Excel.

    + Must be capable of completing all required field documentation and able to carry out all other duties that are assigned.

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

    + Possession of a CDL Class B

    + Must have a current driver license.

    Working Environment:

    + Field and office environment with outside activity including response to yard, stations, or Right-of-Way (ROW).

    Physical Demands:

    + This position involves standing, walking, climbing stairs and, in part, working outdoors in all seasons. The position may involve bending over, or squatting, reaching overhead, walking on uneven surfaces, and stepping over rail or obstructions in the yard or ROW.

    Other Conditions:

    + Per the needs of the RL and at the discretion of the General Superintendent, this position may involve working variable “off” tours with variable RDO’s (rest days off). This position works closely with the Manager of Facilities.
