Position Title: Special Education Teacher (LBS1 Float)
Modality: In-person, floating between locations
Grade Levels: K–12 (specific grade levels to be confirmed)
Caseload: Details pending; will float across multiple locations
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: End of the 2025–2026 school year
Schedule: Typically 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM (varies by location) 33 hours per week
Breaks: 30-minute unpaid lunch
Support: Strong team support within the cooperative; excellent communication and collaboration
Pay Rate: $50 per hour
Position Overview:
The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, provides high-quality services to students with special needs across kindergarten through 12th grade. This role emphasizes collaboration with general education staff and active participation in planning and implementing individualized student programs, including specialized instruction, tutoring, and consultation.
Minimum Requirements:
+ Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
+ Valid state teaching certificate as required by state/district regulations
+ At least one year of teaching experience (preferred)
+ Illinois Teaching Certification (preferred types):
+ Standard Elementary Teaching
+ Standard Secondary Teaching
+ Standard Special Teaching
+ LBS1 Endorsement (preferred)
+ Compliance with all professional standards of practice
+ Current CPR certification (if applicable)
+ TB questionnaire, PPD test, or chest x-ray (if applicable)
+ Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
