    With the current US healthcare system focused on efficiency and affordability, ensuring patient access to innovative treatments is critical. The Value & Evidence Scientific Engagement (V&ESE) organization must provide fair balanced, objective, scientific/clinical and economic information and education to population health decision makers (PHDM). V&ESE serves as the scientific “voice of customer” back into Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine (J&J IM), including insights on emerging healthcare trends and policies and customer-specific information. V&ESE also develops and implements clear and efficient PHDM communication processes and executes impactful communication of the value of Johnson & Johnson’s innovations to population health decision makers.

     

    The Principal Scientific Account Lead (SAL), V&ESE – Field, is responsible for providing fair-balanced, objective, scientific/clinical information to external and internal customers across all the key products within the Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine (J&J IM) Pharmaceutical portfolio. External customers can include, but are not limited to, Managed Care Organizations (MCOs), large physician groups, Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs), Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) companies, Governmental Agencies (CMS and VA/DoD System), Medicare, Medicaid, Long Term Care (LTC) facilities, Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs), and Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) in the assigned region/geography.

    Key Accountabilities of the Director, National Accounts Include:

    External Customer Facing:

    Integrate in-depth scientific, clinical, economic, healthcare market, and environmental considerations into a compliant strategic territory level scientific account plan

     

    Build, grow and foster engagement and relationships with key customers and stakeholders, including C-suite executives, PHDMs and other clinical/scientific stakeholders as defined by the account parameters.

     

    Provide fair-balanced, objective, scientific/clinical, economic information (** **including BIM, CPR, NCR and cost minimization models)** **and health outcomes data and education tailored to the audience across all the key products and resources within the J&J IM pharmaceutical portfolio and pipeline, incorporating real-life practice considerations as appropriate

     

    Assess payer involvement in therapeutic area (TA) related pathways and provide scientific support to shape product positioning.

     

    Stay abreast of healthcare trends and policies relevant to customer and therapeutic area responsibility

     

    Strategize and collaborate with key internal business partners, primarily the Strategic Customer Group (SCG), Medical Affairs and other V&ESE leaders

     

    Contribute to business planning and internal business partner teams by providing strategic clinical input, pharmacoeconomic/health outcomes input and customer insight.

     

    Through deep account awareness, act compliantly and innovatively to develop successful customer collaborations resulting in approved clinical programs, pharmacoeconomic engagements, research partnerships and value proposition engagements that drive NA Pharm clinical business forward with the customer.

     

    Actively listen and record scientific voice of customer, providing analysis and scientific significance

     

    Attend and actively participate in select medical/outcomes research meetings, professional conferences (AMCP, ASHP, etc.), advisory boards and internal meetings to deepen market access acumen, key channel stakeholder relationships and execute against scientific exchange goals

    Department Operations and Internal Leadership:

    Establishes ongoing systems/habits/networks in addition to planned trainings to maintain thorough understanding and demonstrated competence in the following areas: all Janssen TA portfolio and pipeline products, scientific data and relevant objectives; SA and V&ESE mission, vision and operating principles; relevant market dynamics and competitive landscape; regulatory and health care compliance guidelines affecting JSA and pharmaceutical industry; corporate policies on appropriate business conduct and ethical behavior; all SOPs and guidelines affecting JSA/Janssen; all requirements for appropriate behavior and documentation of activities

     

    Proactively communicates with supervisor and relevant business partners

     

    Proactively works with FD supervisor on professional developmental plans, including implementation steps and timelines for completion

     

    Contributes to outcomes research projects/publications/tool implementation and/or work streams as identified and as approved by management.

    Be fluent in Health Care Compliance guidelines for field-based medical personnel; working closely with HCC partners, ensuring guidelines are followed in all initiatives.

    Education and Experience Required:

    A Doctorate level degree or equivalent experience is required (** **i.e., PharmD, PhD, MD, DNP, Advanced Practice Provider) in a Clinical, Scientific and/or outcomes related discipline.

     

    At least 8 years post-graduate experience, including at least 4 years in the pharmaceutical and/or healthcare industry.

     

    Prior experience in a clinical and/or HEOR field capacity is required.

     

    Advanced training or experience in health economics, pharmacoeconomics, health care policy, life sciences, quality of life research or pharmacoepidemiology preferred.

     

    Travel by air, domestic and international including overnight and weekends as needed, as job requires approximately 50-70% travel. They must have quick adaptability across multiple time zones

     

    A valid driver's license issued in the United States
