    Empowering People's Independence (EPI), provides support for people with developmental disabilities, epilepsy, and brain injury through progressive, tailored care to improve their health, wellbeing, independence, and social inclusion.

    Job Purpose:

    The primary purpose of this position is to ensure billing documentation meets regulatory requirements, execute the Audit Work Plan, conduct compliance investigations, and manage the Policy and Procedure process of Empowering People’s Independence (EPI).

    Essential Functions:

    + Ensure Staff Action Plans are implemented per regulatory guidelines.

    + Ensure all billing documents and documentation of service are maintained and meet compliance standards.

    + Ensure team has adequate training and tools to accomplish goals.

    + Report any discrepancies and/or violations to immediate supervisor, with proposed remedial action.

    + Develop, Implement, and manage Annual Compliance Audit Work Plan.

    + Assist in completing self-survey trend analysis reports and collaborate with programs to problem solve in response to internal and external survey/audit findings.

    + Oversee and monitor and evaluate program compliance per regulatory requirements by conducting on-site audits, to include observation, interview, record review and analysis of data.

    + Prepare and distribute audit reports to responsible department(s).

    + Independently investigate and provide recommendations on matters related to compliance, to include assisting with the development of internal compliance systems and controls as applicable.

    + Manage annual person supported satisfaction survey process.

    + Provide leadership and oversight of Agency Policy and Procedure Process to include leading and facilitating the Policy & Procedure committee and ensuring agency policies and processes are in line with regulatory requirements.

    + Must attend Leadership trainings.

    + Perform other duties as assigned by the VP QI & Compliance and/or designee within scope of practice.

    Non-Essential Functions:

    + Other duties as assigned within scope of practice.

    + Participate on various EPI committees as able.

    Compliance:

    + Must maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion concerning all business-related matters, including but not limited to board/vendors/donors’ names, investigations, finance, operations, and employee relations matters.

    + Must be willing to complete specific company required trainings as mandated by our governing agency, Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), at time of hire and annually thereafter.

    + Must adhere to all departmental /company policies & procedures at all times.

    Education and Experience:

    + Minimum associate’s degree with five (5) + years of experience in a related field. Bachelor’s Degree preferred in related field, with at least two (2) years of relevant work experience in health care and human services, or equivalent combination of education and work experience in related field.

    + Working knowledge of Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) and/or Department of Health (DOH Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) & Nursing Home Transition & Diversion (NHTD) Waiver regulations required.

    Supervision:

    + Ensure team compliance of annual trainings.

    + Manage direct report(s) time and attendance using HRIS platform.

    + Manages team of approximately six (6) Qualified Intellectual Disability Professionals (QIDP). Collaborate with Human Resources for; recruitment/onboarding, performance management, etc.

    Computer Skills:

    + Strong working knowledge of Microsoft programs to include Email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams.

    Qualifications:

    + Must possess and maintain a valid NYS Driver’s License-a vehicle is required for business travel.

    + Solid verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate with all persons supported and a diverse employee population of various levels within the organization. Ability to write and speak Spanish a plus.

    + Demonstrated ability to use poise, tact, maturity and diplomacy, during difficult and/or stressful situations to effectively collaborate and resolve issues.

    + Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, and customer requests, while meeting deadlines.

    + Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

     

    While performing the duties of this position, exposure to changing weather conditions will occur.

    Salary Range:

    $62,000 - $75,000/year
