    Hours Per Week: 40.00

     

    Work Schedule: 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM

    Summary:

    The Assistant Manager/Educator will provide direct supervision over the clinical therapy team and perform education as it pertains to respiratory care and other duties delegated by the Respiratory Manager. They will assist the manager in developing protocols, procedures, and policies as needed. The Assistant Manager/Educator is responsible for enhancing professional practice in the provision of quality, patient care, by providing evidence based, quality, educational programs and activities which promote professional competency for respiratory therapists, interprofessional, and non-licensed clinical staff at the assigned facility.

    Responsibilities:

    + Assists the manager in annual reviews.

    + Oversees and assists with audits of department charges.

    + Works closely with charge therapist and Staffing Center in managing day-to-day staffing needs.

    + Collaborate with managers, directors, and other disciplines to plan, implement, and evaluate continuing education programs.

    + Assists in the clinical rotation of respiratory therapy students and facilitates the orientation of new respiratory therapists, respiratory trainees, and new clinical preceptors.

    + Integrates or provides research into developing and teaching educational programs.

    + Evaluates overall educational program effectiveness.

    + Maintains and exhibits the current knowledge of profession and participates in continuing education.

    + Assumes patient care role when designated by manager or designee.

    + Collaborates with local respiratory programs in the NLH respiratory sponsorship program to support clinical and sponsorship experiences of student respiratory therapists.

    + Word process application with the ability to create and edit documents, format, use tables, apply footnoting, create table of contents and mail merge techniques.
