    Position Summary

    The Monitoring & Controls Service Technician is responsible for inspecting, repairing, calibrating, testing, and maintaining field instruments, equipment systems, and controls to ensure product specifications and quality standards are met. This role combines hands-on troubleshooting with technical expertise in electrical controls, PLC systems, and IoT-enabled equipment.

     

    We’re looking for a **technically curious professional with a background in electrical, mechanical, or controls systems** who enjoys hands-on problem solving and wants to grow their skills in advanced controls and instrumentation.

     

    You’ll diagnose and repair complex issues, perform preventive maintenance, and support system integrations in the field. The ideal candidate has strong electrical and controls knowledge, thrives in a hands-on environment, and enjoys problem-solving both independently and as part of a team.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Promote and maintain a **safety-first culture** in all fieldwork

    + Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, and servicing of electrical fleet equipment and systems

    + Build and repair electrical control panels, integrating components such as **transducers, switches, VFDs, power supplies, and PLCs**

    + Diagnose low-voltage AC/DC signal issues using multimeters, signal generators, and diagnostic tools

    + Read and interpret **electrical wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings**

    + Troubleshoot electrical systems, diesel engines, pump problems, and motor controls

    + Update PLC software, integrate systems, and provide **remote technical support** when needed

    + Support system setup on customer job sites and respond to **after-hours/emergency service calls** as required

    + Create accurate repair/parts lists and coordinate with the Parts Manager for timely procurement

    + Operate a service truck and maintain company property responsibly

    + Document service activities clearly and communicate effectively with internal teams and customers

     

    Qualifications & Experience

    Required:

    + 3–5 years troubleshooting and repairing electrical controls or industrial equipment (or equivalent hands-on technical experience)

    + Knowledge of **3-phase, 480V systems** , single-phase, and DC electrical systems

    + Experience with **VFDs, PLCs, and motor starter panels**

    + Ability to read and interpret schematics and drawings

    + Proficiency with diagnostic tools (multimeters, signal generators, etc.)

    + Strong organizational and communication skills in a fast-paced environment

    + Willingness to travel frequently (up to 50% within Texas) for customer needs and emergency response

    Preferred:

    + Forklift certification

    + Experience with **electrical submersible equipment**

    + Familiarity with IoT systems, data monitoring, and integration concepts

    + Exposure to **HVAC systems, conveyor systems, motor controls, and industrial automation**

    + Prior experience in field service roles with troubleshooting responsibility

    Candidate Profile

    + Recent technical graduate or hands-on professional with strong understanding of **motors, controls, and PLC systems**

    + Interest in **IoT integration and system data tracking**

    + “Mini-engineer” mindset with exposure to industrial systems (HVAC, conveyors, pumps)

    + Curious, adaptable, and eager to develop into advanced controls and instrumentation work

    Compensation & Benefits

    + **Market:** Dallas–Fort Worth (DFW), TX

    + **Hourly Rate:** $26/hr currently; target regrading to **$30–$37/hr (C3 level consideration)**
