The **Senior Accountant** at **Xylem** is a key member of the Accounting team, responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records that support the Water Solutions & Services (WSS) operations. This role provides essential accounting expertise across general ledger management, lease accounting, acquisitions and divestitures, and monthly and quarterly financial reporting. Partnering closely with cross-functional teams, the Senior Accountant delivers timely, reliable financial insights that drive informed decision-making and advance Xylem’s strategic objectives.
Senior Accountant - WSS** **Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting
• Subject Matter Expert supporting general accounting/ledger and intercompany
• Subject Matter Expert supporting lease accounting including identification of leases, recording leases into the lease accounting software, recording lease journal entries, and reconciling lease accounts
• Assist in the recording of acquisition and divesture related journal entries
• Timely and accurate journal entry preparation and posting
• Support month end and year end close process
• Assist with the review of quarterly segment analytics
• Account reconciliation, analysis, and timely resolution of reconciling items
• Assist with preparation and distribution of monthly/quarterly accounting reporting
Audit and Compliance
• Maintain, update, and develop desktop procedures, as needed
• Distribute and maintain documentation to support Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance
• Support internal and external financial and SOX audits
Financial Analysis
• Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support decision making
Process Improvement
• Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions
• Streamline accounting processes to increase efficiency and accuracy
• Ensure internal controls are in place and followed
Stakeholder Relationship Management
• Collaborate with FP&A, Legal, Corporate Reporting, and other departments
• Partnering with and assisting Divisional and Segment Controllers
• Special projects as deemed appropriate by the Divisional and Segment Controllers
Senior Accountant - WSS** **Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business-related field.
• Minimum of 2- 5 years’ experience in Public Accounting firm and/or Controller’s functions of a company. Combination of both a plus.
• Demonstrated experience in resolving non-routine and semi-complex accounting activities, such as account reconciliations and journal entries
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively, manage multiple projects, and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
• Computer skills necessary, intermediate to advanced proficiency with the Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint). SAP experience preferred. CoStar experience preferred. Knowledge of OneStream and Workiva a plus.
• Ability to collaborate remotely with team members in various locations.
Preferred Qualifications:
• CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or similar certification, such as CMA (Certified Management Accountant) or ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants)
The estimated salary range for this position is $80,000 to $105,000 plus bonus. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
