    Position Overview:

    Adjunct Nursing faculty are responsible for facilitating learning and learner development, using assessment and evaluation strategies, participating in curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation, evaluating student learning and program outcomes, and functioning within the educational environment. This role must be fulfilled in accordance with the rules and regulations of the state and federal regulatory and accrediting bodies.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Supervise and evaluate ground full-time and adjunct arts and science faculty.

    + Supervise and evaluate assigned online arts & science faculty.

    + Hire, with approval of chair and dean, and orient ground arts & science adjunct and full-time faculty in sufficient numbers to support campus needs.

    + Ensure faculty provide quality instruction, identify, and support at-risk students, and meet retention goals.

    + In collaboration with chair and other associate chairs, develop course schedules and workload for review and approval by dean of Arts & Sciences.

    + Schedule and conduct regular faculty meetings for Arts & Sciences Faculty.

    + Facilitate and participate in quarterly course meetings.

    + Ensure development of quality course syllabi, assessments, and supporting materials incorporating sound instructional design principles.

    + In collaboration with the Institutional Effectiveness Department, ensure effective assessment of General Education Competencies and implementation a continuous process improvement plan focused on those competencies.

    + Ensure all regional and programmatic accreditation requirements are met regarding the Arts & Science curriculum.

    + Collaborate with faculty development for faculty development goals for Arts & Sciences faculty.

    + In collaboration with arts & sciences chair and other associate chairs schedule and conduct online faculty training sessions as needed to support the online teaching needs of the college.

    + Collaborates with faculty and chair to create and maintain an environment conductive to teaching and learning, scholarship, and service, including oversight of faculty assignments, scheduling, and workload.

    + Ensure the appropriate application of student policies and the correct implementation of related procedures by faculty

    + Carry a ¼ (one course) teaching load in the College

    + Other duties as assigned by the chair and/or dean.

    Position Requirements

    + **Education:** Minimum of Master’s Degree in one of the Arts & Sciences subjects taught at the college or a closely related field.

    + **Physical Requirements:** Position requires mental activity, reading, planning, preparing, evaluating, and decision making. Physical demands in classroom and office are minimal and considered sedentary work with occasional lifting and/or carrying such articles as records, files, and books (10 pounds maximum). Operation of standard office equipment such as phone, computer, classroom projector, Scantron, and printer/scanner, occurs on a frequent basis.

    + **Degree of Supervision:** Ability to effectively supervise faculty.
