    The Tester I is responsible for testing electrical systems and equipment to detect faulty wiring and ensure product compliance with codes and standards in a work cell or area. The Tester I will ensure safety is adhered to by complying with all PPE and electrical handling guidelines, as identified in the JHA for all Tester I test cells.

     

    The Tester I will demonstrate proficiency in using wire diagram, Manufacturing Tracking System (MTS), On Floor Sheets (OFS), and hand tools required when required. The Tester I will demonstrate ability to interact with Quality by driving continuous improvement through active product resolution by using turn-backs and documenting assembly defects or supplier failures. The Tester I will participate in daily toolbox meetings and ensure shop floor management elements such as Tier 1, QCPC, 5S, Material Review Board (MRB) and other job duties assigned.

     

    + Perform functional tests on components to ensure components will operate correctly and have been assembled according to work instruction, schematics, change sheets, or wire diagram.

    + Perform basic troubleshooting on various assemblies when functional tests produce a fail result. Identify and resolve the underlying issue where possible.

    + Perform similar functional test in at least 2 lines utilizing the DAL test fixture and perform HIPOT and Continuity test.

    + Utilize Shop floor management system to drive KPC/TPM, Tier 1, 5S, and cross-training principles to promote continuous improvement

    + Participate in required Tester 1 OJT and cross-training on Test 2.

    + Perform other duties as requested or assigned by supervisor or manager.

    **Hours:** 6AM-4:30PM

    Critical Skills/Knowledge

    + Knowledge of electrical components and simple problem-solving skills, using computer systems and documents to ensure product compliance.

    + Solid communication skills to drive improvement in defect prevention and flexibility to foster learning all products and test cell configurations.

    + Ability to train others in product and test configurations to drive cross-training and knowledge transfer.

    + Basic ability to read OFS, wire diagram, Schematics, and proper use of electrical tools.

    **Minimum Education:** HS Diploma or GED

    **Minimum Experience:** 0 month-1 year in production assembly
