    Overview

     

    Bowhead seeks an Agile Project Manager to join our team supporting our MITSM customer in Stafford, VA. This position is 100% onsite at our Bowhead Stafford office and is expected to begin on December 1, 2025 and will last 120 days. The preferred candidate will possess a current USMC CAC.

    Responsibilities

    • Facilitate Agile ceremonies including daily scrums, sprint planning, sprint reviews/demos, and retrospectives, ensuring proper application of Scrum processes while leveraging other Agile frameworks (Kanban, Scrumban).

    • Coach teams and individuals in Agile practices by clarifying goals, defining actions, and promoting adherence to Agile principles across programs.

    • Monitor and communicate Agile metrics such as WIP limits and throughput to support transparency, alignment, and continuous improvement.

    • Support acquisition teams by preparing, reviewing, updating, and maintaining program documentation, including market research reports and vendor analyses.

    • Document and analyze business and functional requirements, translating them into process maps, technical system requirements, and acquisition artifacts.

    • Create and maintain high-quality documentation (manuals, specifications, process documents, reports, meeting minutes) that ensures accuracy, clarity, and alignment with project needs.

    • Leverage Microsoft and Atlassian tools (Teams, SharePoint, Jira, Confluence) to manage workflows, support collaboration, and implement process improvements.

    • Build and sustain strong stakeholder relationships by providing excellent customer service, effective communication, collaboration, and conflict resolution across cross-functional teams.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree required.

    • 5+ years of relevant experience in Agile coaching, project management, or business analysis.

    • Strong knowledge of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, Scrumban) and iterative development.

    • Experience with backlog tracking, sprint planning, burndown metrics, and Jira.

    • Excellent documentation, analytical, and conceptual thinking skills.

    • Exceptional attention to detail, interpersonal, and communication skills (written, verbal, and training).

    • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.

    • Familiarity with software development processes and service-oriented environments.

    • PMP, CSM or equivalent certification highly desired.

     

    SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Successfully pass a T1 investigation. Candidates with a security clearance are highly encouraged to apply. US Citizenship is required.

    Physical Demands:

    • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds

    • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time

    • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
