The Opportunity
Become a Key Player in Operational Risk Management! We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced risk management professional to provide dedicated support to Operational Risk Management Fraud Team. In this role, you will be responsible to support an effective risk management framework and controls to identify, assess, and mitigate fraud risks. This role requires a strong understanding of risk management principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to lead complex initiatives and cross-functional teams. Experience in fraud risk management, including knowledge of fraud detection techniques and prevention strategies, is required. Leverage your expertise to enhance USAA risk culture and contribute to the overall success of the Association.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be **in the office 4 days per week.** This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Charlotte, NC.
Relocation assistance is **not** available for this position.
What you'll do:
+ Identify and seek key partners across the enterprise to support the identification, assessment, aggregation and the overall management of risks and controls.
+ Present findings and recommendations to various levels of leadership.
+ Routinely communicate results of risk assessments to governance committees, business process owners and various levels of leadership and influences decision making.
+ Develop process and procedures for successful implementation of new risk policies, practices, appetites and solutions to ensure integrated understanding and management of risks according to industry standard process.
+ Develop strategies, tools, and methodologies to measure, monitor, and report risks.
+ Apply expert knowledge use or produce analytical material for discussions with cross functional teams to understand business objectives and influence solution strategies.
+ Lead, assemble and facilitate cross-functional teams to identify, assess, aggregate and mitigate current and emerging risk events.
+ Serve as the point of contact for senior risk leadership on projects and special management requests that often impact the enterprise or core operating area.
+ Formulate and review stress test plans for a line of business or the enterprise.
+ Evaluate results, and frames contingency plans in partnership with key business partners.
+ Craft key communications to be delivered to executives and board members.
What you have:
+ Bachelor's Degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, or a related field; 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
+ Minimum 8 years' risk management, regulatory or operations experience in a relevant functional area to include banking, insurance, financial services, audit, project management, public accounting or other related operational area OR Advanced degree/designation in risk management, business, finance, or other field relevant to risk management and 6 years' work experience in a field relevant to risk management.
+ Advanced risk management experience in a complex institution and/or highly matrixed environment.
+ Demonstrated experience in conflict resolution management and ability to effectively challenge at all levels of management and influence business outcomes.
+ Experience leading and directing work with both internal and external partners in a highly collaborative environment.
+ Demonstrated critical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and techniques and decision-making abilities, to include demonstrated ability to effectively make data-driven decisions.
+ Proactively identifies potential concerns and follows-up to resolve issues.
+ Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel and PowerPoint.

+ Oversee the management of the organization's Internal and External Fraud Risk Policy, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and regulatory requirements.
+ Built and maintained strong relationships with internal and external partners to foster a collaborative approach to fraud management.
+ Serve as a subject matter expert and thought leader on enterprise-wide fraud prevention strategies that support reduced fraudulent activity and minimized financial losses.
+ Facilitate cross-functional working group focused on collaborating strategies for detection, prevention, and responding to emerging fraud threats.
+ Champion fraud awareness throughout the organization, creating and delivering Enterprise training program.
+ Develop and deliver reports on fraud trends and performance to executive leadership and committees.
Compensation range:** The salary range for this position is: $143,320.00 - $273,9.0.00 **.

**Compensation:** USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
