    **Enrollment Management at CU Boulder** welcomes applications for the **_Senior Assistant Director, Colorado Recruitment!_** This position reports to the Associate Director of First-Year Recruitment in the Office of Admissions and plays a pivotal role in delivering strategic recruitment initiatives. It involves high-level collaboration and active participation in the development and implementation of admissions procedures and engagements that directly impact prospective students and their families.

    Key Responsibilities:

    _Strategic Travel Planning & Leadership:_

     

    Actively contributes to discussions with admissions leadership around travel recruitment strategy. Independently plans and implements significant travel within a designated recruitment territory, aligning efforts with institutional goals and outreach priorities.

     

    _Territory Management & Recruitment Execution:_

     

    Represents the University of Colorado Boulder to a wide range of constituents including prospective students, families, high school counselors, community leaders, and campus partners. This representation occurs through a variety of channels including in-person interactions, email correspondence, phone conversations, and one-on-one meetings. Senior Assistant Director will also develop and implement a comprehensive recruitment strategy for a designated territory, which includes high school visits, college fairs, workshops, and panels.

     

    _Staff Development & Team Leadership:_

     

    Mentors and guides in-state and out-of-state recruiters. Plans and leads professional development sessions-either independently or in collaboration with First-Year Team leadership-focused on enhancing staff effectiveness, engagement, and growth.

     

    _Motivational Leadership & Counselor Support:_

     

    Offers insight into the "why" behind various admissions responsibilities, helping counselors connect their work to broader institutional goals and student impact. Serves as a source of motivation and clarity, reinforcing purpose and standard processes across the team.

     

    _Campus Engagement & Visibility:_

     

    Supports on-campus programming such as daily admissions presentations and larger campus events in collaboration with the Visit Experience team. Demonstrates commitment and consistent presence in coverage responsibilities. Volunteers for and contributes meaningfully during campus events, ensuring a welcoming and informative experience for prospective students and families.

     

    _Support for Access & Top Scholar Initiatives:_

     

    Provides direct support to Assistant Directors overseeing access and top scholar initiatives. This includes strategic outreach, and the planning and execution of impactful on-campus visit programs tailored to access and top scholars populations.

     

    _Application Review & Evaluation:_

     

    Evaluates domestic first-year applications, applying holistic review practices and contributing to the overall admissions decision-making process.

     

    _Policy Development & Ethical Standards:_

     

    This position will be well-versed in and consistently uphold professional ethics, including the policies of the Office of Admissions and the codes of conduct established by professional organizations in which the university holds membership.     What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

    + Responsible for the leadership, management, and assessment of outreach efforts associated with domestic first-year recruitment within Colorado. Travel for this position is substantial in the fall (4-6 weeks), with additional travel occurring in the spring. Primary recruitment visits are conducted throughout Colorado, with secondary travel to out-of-state locations as needed. This position is responsible for determining target schools, creating travel schedules, and executing visits to meet leadership-defined visit goals.

    + Provides direct supervision of full-time staff involved in the recruitment, evaluation, and enrollment of students to the University of Colorado Boulder. This position manages, trains, and evaluates university staff, leading by example through goal achievement and ongoing coaching. They support staff development by identifying and facilitating professional growth opportunities. The individual in this role actively participates in staff development initiatives, including recruitment training series, university workshops, state and national conferences, and other professional development programs. Additionally, this position serves as a member of the Recruitment Supervisors Team.

    + Provides admission-related information to prospective students through email, telephone conversations, in-office appointments, and virtual meetings as needed. Actively participates in admission recruitment programs and events. This individual serves as a primary contact for prospective students, families, and high school counselors throughout the college admission process, offering personalized guidance and support across multiple communication channels.

    + As the lead liaison for the Office of Precollege Outreach and Engagement (OPCOE), this individual supports the Senior Assistant Director of Application Review with first-year application review for Pre-Collegiate Scholars. They serve as the primary contact for Pre-Collegiate Scholars, their families, and program coordinators, and collaborate on recruitment events. Responsibilities include communicating application processes and representing the Office of Admissions at Pre-Collegiate meetings throughout the school year. This role also involves regular collaboration with the Recruitment Team to align strategies and share updates.

    + Other duties as assigned.

    + The annual salary range is $76,602 - $77,250.

    What We Require

    + Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; an equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis.

    + Minimum of three (3) plus years of progressively more responsible and independent higher education or admission related experience or equivalent.

    + A valid driver's license and regular access to a vehicle to meet recruitment expectations.

    + Willing and able to commit to extensive overnight, evening, and weekend work as required by the role.

    + Due to the nature of this position, non-traditional hours-including select evenings and weekends-are required, particularly during special events or VIP functions held in the CASE building that demand additional staff presence and attention.
