• Junior Systems Administrator

    KIHOMAC (Colorado Springs, CO)


    + Perform system administration duties on Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) suite of applications

    + Support systems engineering, maintenance, and operations of cyber capabilities

    + Assist in troubleshooting of hardware, software, and capability of the DCO suite of applications

    + Conduct functional and connectivity testing to ensure continuing operability

    + Comply with organization systems administration standard operating procedures

    + Maintain baseline system security according to organizational policies

    + Manage accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment

    + Manage system/server resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability

    + Monitor and maintain system/server configuration

    + Perform repairs on faulty system/server hardware

    + Troubleshoot hardware/software interface and interoperability problems

    + Install, update, and troubleshoot systems/servers

    + Patch network vulnerabilities to ensure information is safeguarded against outside parties

    + Other duties as assigned

    Requirements

    Education/Training:

    + Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Technology, or other relevant discipline preferred

    + Active DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification with Continuing Education (CE) - (CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP,GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP) required

    + Must have, or obtain upon hire, an active DoD 8570.01-M CSSP Infrastructure Support certification with Continuing Education (CE) - (CEH, CySA+, GICSP, SSCP, CHFI, CFR, Cloud+, CND

    Experience:

    + 2+ years of general (full-time) work experience

    + 6+ months of directly related experience

    + Experience with Linux system administration in a DoD environment

    + Security Information & Event Management (SIEM) experience

    + Experience with the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) preferred

    + Server Management experience, including deployment, backups, snapshots preferred

    Security:

    + Must be a US citizen

    + Candidate must be in possession of a minimum DoD issued Secret Clearance

    Physical Requirements:

    + Able to occasionally reach with hands and arms

    + Prolonged periods of computer screen use, while sitting or standing at a desk

    + Adhere to safety protocols when in work areas requiring use of PPE (e.g. eyewear, gloves, masks, hearing protection, steel toed shoes, etc.)

    + Able to safely lift and carry up to 20 pounds at a time

    Salary: $90,000.00 - 115,000.00
