    Overview

     

    Kimley-Horn's Dallas, Texas (TX) office is seeking an Environmental Scientist with 2+ years of experience to join their Environmental team! This is not a remote position.

     

    + This is an exciting opportunity to work with a team on a variety of multidisciplinary projects (commercial development, renewable energy, power delivery, roadway, utilities, planning, etc.)

    + Our team is responsible for multiple levels of environmental due diligence and permitting, and this role will be a leader on these projects with opportunities to interface directly with clients and other stakeholders

    + You will work closely and collaboratively with other industry-leading professionals, agencies, various jurisdictions, and contractors.

    Responsibilities

    + Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to produce our clients’ visions for the future built environment.

    + Develop familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn’s and our client’s practices, procedures, and standards.

    + Gain knowledge in one or more of the following practice areas: Natural Resource Due Diligence and Permitting, Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESA), and/or National Environmental Policy Act compliance

    + Some travel may be required (approximately 30-50%).

    Qualifications

    + 2+ years relevant experience, including field work, data collection, and preparation of Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs)

    + Bachelors or Masters Degree in relevant majors including Biology, Environmental Science, or related majors

    + Knowledge of state (i.e., TCEQ) permitting and regulations

    + Ability to assess sites for Business Environmental Risks (BERs) and Recognized Environmental Conditions, and provide technical and practical guidance and solutions to clients and stakeholders

    + Strong technical writing skills and experience writing detailed technical reports

    + Working knowledge and strong interest in ArcGIS

    + Desire to work in both an office environment and in the field

    + Willingness and flexibility to travel for projects as needed

    + Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills

    + Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines

    + Detail-oriented team player with the ability to contribute to a positive work environment

    + Strong technical writing and organizational skills

    + The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced work environment as well as the ability to manage and prioritize several assignments concurrently and meet deadlines
